Caza tendiendo emboscadas y sus patas tienen una envergadura de hasta 28 cent\u00edmetros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puede pesar m\u00e1s de 100 gramos, siendo el peso m\u00e1ximo registrado de 155 gramos correspondientes a una hembra en cautividad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Theraphosa blondi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta ara\u00f1a vive sobre todo en las selvas costeras de Surinam, Guyana y Guayana Francesa y, a pesar de su nombre, se alimentan fundamentalmente de insectos y de ranas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.blogs.es\/c46571\/410px-theraphosa_blondi_mhnt\/450_1000.jpg\" alt=\"a\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Su veneno no es ni mucho menos mortal<\/strong>, como se cree popularmente; sus quel\u00edceros producen una profunda herida y el dolor puede durar unas 48 horas como mucho, as\u00ed como n\u00e1useas y sudoraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque las ara\u00f1as est\u00e1n cubiertas de unas vellosidades alargadas llamadas tricobotrios, tambi\u00e9n tienen exoesqueleto. Cuando crecen y superan el tama\u00f1o de su exoesqueleto, se desprenden de \u00e9l en un proceso llamado \"muda\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.blogs.es\/e74966\/1280px-theraphosa_blondi_1\/450_1000.jpg\" alt=\"a\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Algunos pueblos cazadores, como los yanomami,&nbsp;<strong>las utilizan como alimento<\/strong>.
